Aims

This course prepares you to build and expand new BroadWorks services.

Requirements

Participants should either complete the IP Foundations for VoIP Carriers, or else have the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification and familiarity with VoIP systems. In addition, participants should have Unix System Administration experience, or attend the Unix for VoIP System Administrators.

Course content


Plan the BroadWorks Deployment or Upgrade. Understand the servers you need for your applications. Plan the equipment you’ll need, based on your supported growth.

Design the IP Network. Understand the IP networking requirements and best-practices. Assign IP addresses and design subnets to support fault tolerance, system maintenance, router and switch upgrades.

Install, Upgrade & Patch BroadWorks Servers. Get experience installing the BroadWorks Application Server, Network Server, Media Server, and External Web Server. Learn about patch application and how to troubleshoot patching when it breaks.

Configure and Integrate the Broadworks System. Understand the basic tasks to configure a new BroadWorks system to be internally-integrated and functional. Practice on a live system.

PSTN Gateway or SIP Peering Integration. Understand PSTN call routing profiles and policies. Setup PSTN gateways or SIP Peers.

SBC Integration. Get experience with the Acme Packet OS-C SBC for SIP registration to your system. Understand registering and non-registering devices, and how they’re configured in BroadWorks.
