To make this copper-voyage complete: this is DSS Online's wiring closet, where BellSouth terminates T1s. The shelves each serve 7 T1s; several of the PairGain HDSL units are visible on the bottom. Both channelized T1s -- those with phone lines on each DS0 -- and nonchannelized circuits are terminated here on identical equipment.

T1 repeaters are in the copper-colored boxes on the right side of the picture.
